WELCOME TO THE ANIMAL STORIES, LEGENDS, MYTHS and LORE GROUP

NATIVE AMERICAN LEGENDS, MYTHS and LORE:
http://www.angelfire.com/ca/Indian/stories.html

" In ages past, our old ones were the storytellers. This was the way things were passed along to the generations that followed. For this reason the aged people made it a point to remember every detail so they could relate it at a later time. They were the word and picture carriers making history and spirtual values alive and important. In recent times we have made our old ones think they are not so important. We spoof their stories and make them feel foolish. The truth is that we are ignorant of what is precious and how to 'a da li he li tse di -- appreciate age. Rigidity can creep in and set even the young mind if there are no soft memories, no laughter, no times too deep for tears. Age is grace -- a time too valuable to waste."

A Cherokee Feast of Days - Daily Meditations, Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Just for fun, and for reference, this is the picture I was thinking about using to replace the Raven picture yesterday. It has an eagle instead of a raven. I guess not, huh? ;-) Turns out I was right the first time. :-)

WOW, I had no clue about this RAVEN story of the origin of the animals when I chose the RAVEN picture on the top header bar for the theme page design! I am definitely being guided in the creation of this site, for sure. How totally APPROPRIATE that it is the Raven who is featured on our new Totem Talk website. Amazing, simply ... Amazing! Just stumbled on this article today when I was adding this group to our site. How totally cool is that now, I have to ask you?! :-)

You know, I had considered changing it to an eagle, just yesterday in fact, but NOW I have been shown that the right animal totem is the RAVEN for this site after all. :-)

I really LOVE it when this kind of stuff happens. It happens all the time working with our animal totems in a conscious and intimate way. Even when we may not know something specific, they have a way of pointing us in the right direction, with the help of Great Spirit, of course. ;-)

This is why THIS group is so important to the site, so we can connect more consciously with what they are trying to show us!

Best blessings to you each today and every day. :-) Terri
