A long time Michael student, I am a dual Canadian/American citizen living in Georgia with my husband and 5 cats (plus a feral colony I help look after). My training and work experience is in Museum and heritage fields;, I enjoy living history and historical re-enactments and a wide variety of crafts.
What brings you to this website?
All my life I have felt a strong affinity with the world of nature, the world of animals, the world of which we are a part and so often forget that we are only one among many.I am interested in exploring our greater connections to and learning about those who journey with us - and help us to know life from outside of our perspective.
Do you have a special animal totem that has come to you?
Several - black rhinoceros, cougar, hawk, swan, dragonfly and Northern Mockingbird- the first two mainly in dreams, the last three mainly in real time and hawk in both:-).
If you are a Michael Student, and currently enrolled in the AW Class Series, you are invited to post your own animal totems here.
I am not enrolled in the AW class, but my animal totems are: Power =Caterpillar/Butterfly; North=Beaver; East=Scarab; South=Dragonfly; West=Platypus; Below=Manatee;Above=Iguana; left=duiker antelope and right=lyrebird.
Totem Support Circle: 1 Tigress; 2Blue Whale; 3 Nightingale; 4 Rhinoceros; 5 Cobra; 6 Black Panther; 7 Penquin; 8 Swan; 9 Alaskan King Crab; 10 Horse; 11 Brown Bear, and 12 Husky
How did you find us?
Terri Benning sent me the link - thank you:-)

Now THAT is one heck-of-a cute picture of you there, Kathryn! I love it! :-)
Welcome to our new Totem Talk community, it's great to see you here. I know you've been a true animal lover all your life, and have also done your fair share of rescue over the years too! I notice you have horse in your healer position ... my horse is in my humor position, as well as recently "landing" in my west position in my traditional 9 directions circle, along with Arvel who also has horse in the west position. It's really interesting to begin to look at our lives from the perspective of the animal totems and their respective positions in each person's "circles" ... you can begin to see where some of the deeper connections not only within, but with others as well begin to come into play.
And, it's also interesting to check out the inter-actions and innate relationships between our various animal totems within our own circles as well. How do they get along? What positions do they hold, and how do some of those positions and relationships manifest in our daily lives? It gets real deep, real fast. One of the best things about working with our animal totems is that we can often "observe" things about ourselves and others with less judgment and more compassion and nuetrality when working through the animal totem's "eyes" and essential "presence."
It's been a fascinating journey of discovery for me, working with my animal totems, and I've been able to go far deeper with my personal inner work through my animal totems than I have been able to access in any other modality that I've encountered for working with our own inner dimensions of consciousness. I REALLY love this work! :-) I have a hunch you will too, especially with your love and sensitivity to animals as well.
Have fun exploring the site, and meeting and making some new friends here as well! :-) I look forward to sharing the journey with you as well my friend. Have a great day! Love, Terri
