Please tell us a little bit about yourself
On my father's side, I am a ninth generation Metis Canadienne, whose family was separated for several generations by the Canadian government's assimilation programs. My generation is the first to not have been stolen and placed in adoptive Zhaaganaash families or residential schools. My father currently lives on a Rez in B.C. with his wife and thier children and has spent the most part of his adult life reclaiming his heritage and helping others to do the same, through out North America.

On my mother's side, I am Creole, originally from Louisiana, but having migrated first, to Boston (rum-running) and then settling in an Acadian/Cajun community in New Brunswick Canada. My grandmother was also adopted, but within the Creole community. Sadly, she denied her true identity and a Creole (Native/Black/French) up until her death, never having accepted herself for who she was.
I am a practicing Israelite, but I am still secure in my identity as an Indigenous woman. Though I do not commune with my ancestors, I give them due respect and honour by incorporating their wise teachings, moral practices and precepts in every aspect of my life. I firmly believe that my God, The God of Israel, lead me on this path knowing exactly who I am and where I came from, therefore it is only natural for me to incorporate my Indigenous roots into my life as an Israelite.
I don't believe in converting others or pushing my spiritual.religious practices on anyone and I do not subscribe to the condemnation or judgement of others based on religious, spiritual or cultural practices and beliefs.
