Okay, I have to admit that I had a bit of a reaction to those hides when I first opened this pic, but the shock is beginning to wear off now. Just wasn't expecting it is all. Of course, fur trading was a huge part of their lives back then ... and it IS a very cool picture. I just can't help but wonder where all those skins came from though ... it's just that I'm SO tuned into the animals these days because I work with them every day. My sensitivity to them has definitely grown and deepened with all of the animal totem work I do with folks through the classes and all.
