Hi Douglas and Anni,

Yes, definitely DO take more photos if you happen to be down that way ... it's beautiful there! Funny story about the history of the area ... sure looks peaceful enough there in these shots! I think I was born in the wrong time ... seems all I've ever wanted to do it go BACK in time a few centuries ever since I was born. Well, I could actually miss the whole Victorian era though, no problem. Will admit to enjoying modern day technology though ... it's another way to travel to places we'd never get to see otherwise ... like THIS place in fact. :-) Looking forward to more ... pics and stories ... :-) Have a great week you two ... <3 Ter

Looking at all the flooding throughout the "modern" era, perhaps they are still laughing!
I couldn't find Seven Eagles on Google Earth, but will try again with your directions.
BTW- I love the art museum in Toledo, I had a close encounter with Van Gogh's essence at an Impressionist exhibit there back in the 80s.
Enjoy the festival if you happen to go - I'm hoping to be a vicarious visitor.

Seven Eagles Lodge is located just south of Grand Rapids, Ohio. Which is west of Toledo and on the south side of the mighty Maumee River. The lodge is situated south of town by a mile, just off the flood plain! The Euro settler's thought they would be smart and build at the rivers side! Well that's were town is still today and they get ten foot of water on main street regularly! Yet the Natives of the area werre called Savage Simpletons that needed the White Euros to show them a better way!! Makes me laugh everytime I think of it! I can only imagine how much the Maumees had to be laughing! The Lost Arts Festival is every spring it seems like the third weekend of May! I will check and let everyone know for sure there is good lodghing close by and plenty of good food!

I totally agree with Terri!
This looks like a living history museum - I'm off to check it out on google earth.

Hey Douglas,

I just took a look at you whole 7 Eagles album, and I am so intrigued by all of the GREAT pictures you've taken ... I'm going to come back tomorrow when my eyes are better rested and ask you some questions about some of these images. They are truly wonderful shots and engender such a feeling of peace, tranquility and harmony. Makes me want to move back to the land, big time! Would love to hear more about each of the pictures, if you're up for it, of course. ;-) Thanks so much for sharing them here ... really enjoying your photographic journeys. See you tomorrow. :-)
