Trees are scientifically proven to be WAY more intelligent than we ever imagined!

“They can feel pain, [and] have emotions, such as fear. Trees like to stand close together and cuddle. They love company and like to take things slow.” These are just some of tree-whisperer Peter Wohlleben’s findings. Peter is a German researcher who not only enjoy being surrounded by trees, he has devoted his life to studying them.

“There is in fact friendship among trees,” he says. “They can form bonds like an old couple, where one looks after the other. Trees have feelings.”

Intelligent Trees is a new documentary is by German forester, author, and tree expert, Peter Wohlleben, along with Suzanne Simard, who is an ecologist from the University of British Columbia. Watch the trailer below to get a glimpse into it.

Not only that, but trees are also believed to have something similar to what we would call a heartbeat.

Dr András Zlinszky at Aarhus University, Denmark, used a laser scanning technique to measure the exact location of branches and leaves of 22 tree and shrub species. Last year he published observations of substantial unexpected movement cycles. Science has found some trees raise and lower their branches several times in the course of the night, indicating a cycle of water and sugar transportation, like their own version of a heartbeat.

“We detected a previously unknown periodic movement of up to 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) in cycles of two to six hours,” Zlinszky said in a statement. “The movement has to be connected to variations in water pressure within the plants, and this effectively means that the tree is pumping. Water transport is not just a steady-state flow, as we previously assumed.”

During the night some trees lower their branches by up to 10 centimeters (4 inches) before raising them again with the Sun. The process is so slow and subtle until recently we thought only certain families do it, but we are now learning it is more widespread.

Most distinctively, a magnolia (Magnolia gradiflora) goes through three full cycles of adjusting its branches, indicating changing water pressure and therefore pumping during the course of a night.

The Wood Wide Web: How trees secretly talk to and share with each other

Trees talk and share resources right under our feet, using a fungal network nicknamed the Wood Wide Web. Some plants use the system to support their offspring, while others hijack it to sabotage their rivals.

Trees secretly talk to each other underground. They’re passing information and resources to and from each other through a network of mycorrhizal fungi—mykós means fungus and riza means root in Greek—a mat of long, thin filaments that connect an estimated 90% of land plants. Scientists call the fungi the Wood Wide Web because ‘adult’ trees can share sugars to younger trees, sick trees can send their remaining resources back into the network for others, and they can communicate with each other about dangers like insect infestations.

This BBC News video by 2D animator and illustrator Jules Bartl explains. Plus, from The New Yorker:

The relationship between these mycorrhizal fungi and the plants they connect is now known to be ancient (around four hundred and fifty million years old) and largely one of mutualism—a subset of symbiosis in which both organisms benefit from their association.

In the case of the mycorrhizae, the fungi siphon off food from the trees, taking some of the carbon-rich sugar that they produce during photosynthesis. The plants, in turn, obtain nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen that the fungi have acquired from the soil, by means of enzymes that the trees do not possess…

The revelation of the Wood Wide Web’s existence, and the increased understanding of its functions, raises big questions—about where species begin and end; about whether a forest might be better imagined as a single superorganism, rather than a grouping of independent individualistic ones; and about what trading, sharing, or even friendship might mean among plants.

Greetings Masters, I am Metatron Lord of Light and I greet each of you in a vector of unconditional love as you read these words.

We joyously share with you the coming 'full activation' of the Green Ray & Sacred Emerald Flame into the Ascended Earth. Masters, this is a long awaited event, one promised eons ago in an enlightened epoch. In a luminous time in which the Earth carried greater dimensional access and you communicated clearly & blissfully with all Kingdoms of the Earth. An illuminated period in which you had the ability to lucidly interact & fully communicate with all elements and kingdoms of the Earth. It was the time of the full spectrum of the Emerald Dimension....and it is returning!

Many of you are called again to anchor the activation of this emerald evolution. It is nigh and will be marked by an extraordinary trine & cometized energy, carrying expansive codes. Codes you have waited eons to receive, it is a soul promise and sacred contract for many. It is part of the new beginning, of the new perception & attributes available to you.

The Green Ray Infinity-Gate Activation

The New Earth has expanded into 12 dimensions, and you now have 12 chakras directly connected to each primary dimension and 20 chakras connecting to the intra sub-dimensional fields within the spectrums of the Omni-Earth.

You are evolving into a greater consciousness. And so it is l ogical to understand that this encompasses all kingdoms of the earth. The basic expansion of the Planetary Ascension also invokes humanities frequencial expansion, including the addendum of all Earth-Kingdoms into your consciousness field. It is a paradigm shift. It will offer you the ability to connect lucidly with the all consciousness of and within Gaia. It is a requisite step toward your integral identity as part of and as co creators of the Earth.

Your dimensional access increased with the planetary Ascension through your chakras. So it is that the initial Sacred Codes of each 'new' chakra be received and installed beginning in 2013, Year One of the New Earth. It is done through the Green-Ray activation.

In August the Green Ray Infinity Portal occurs in the aperture act ivation of the Emerald Flame. The primary opening apex is fromAugust 12-21, 2013.

And we tell you the 4th, 8th & 9th dimensions are formulated through and with the Emerald-Ray. The 8th & 9th dimensions will begin completing receival of the Geo-Codes of Thoth, through the aperture of the Emerald Flame Activation.

It initiates in the 8th month of 2013 and completes in the 9th month on the (September) Equinox. The apexial phase of the Green Ray Activation begins with the Perseids Meteor influx, and culminates on the full moon of August 20th. (Understand that astrological, astronomical events are energy shift catalysts, and in the New Earth, these are the base mechanisms of the new paradigm formation.)

The Emerald Flame

The Emerald Flame is a vibratory essence that is Healing & Nurturing, and by receiving the Codes of the Green Ray Activation, the 8th and 9th Chakric Fields will expand into more lucid reception and perception from and into the 8th and 9th Dimension in the Physio Realm, and into the 16th-18th Chakric sensories of the etheric level within the 13-20-33 resonance of the crystalline Mer-Ka-Na Field.

Accordingly humanity can receive these codes as they complete the portal downloads of the Green Ray Infinity (8) Portal. These codes are synergized into the 8th & 9th Physio-Chakras, through the guidance of Archangel Raphael. The Emerald Flame is the higher merging of your consciousness with that of the Ascended Earth.

As you become more settled into the higher frequencies of the New Earth, it is incumbent upon you to calibrate and fine-tune to the expanded Chakra Alignments of the Crystalline Lite Body, the Mer-Ka-Na. Naturally the Earth is adjusting her resonance to refashion the chakric centers of the planet to receive and distribute the energies for humanity's expansion.

Complexities of the New Expansive Green Ray

The Green Ray is a very complex and widely employed energy. Within its spectral bands are the telluric & etheric manifestations of that termed the Plant Kingdom, and thus the higher m anifestations of the Devic Fae projections of the Plant consciousness. The benevolent of the Fae include the conscious forms of Faeries, the Elfin & 'Greenman'.

The most conscious of the Plant Kingdom are Trees, and these have been recognized as healers and Spiritual Councils by more aware societies throughout the ages, particularly in LeMuria and the Golden Age of Atlantis. Many of you experienced life on the planet in the pre-duality firmament as these beings, as the Devic projections of the Kingdoms of Earth in luminous form. This was enabled by the crystalline resonance of that phase and this resonant frequencial lensis being activated in the planetary ascension through the Green Ray Activation.

Trees are taking on an even more conscious role and a greater communi cative & healing interaction with humanity in the New Earth. They have been virtually unrecognized for millennia in terms of their true consciousness. In the New-Earth Activation of the Green Ray you will regain the ability to more lucidly communicate with Tree Beings and receive not only the healing they offer, but their Spiritual Council as well.

With this comes an increased responsibility for protecting Trees.

As in all forms of life, botanical life (especially the arboreal) have a hierarchy of consciousness. The highest of these are the Sequoia (Redwood & Sequoia), followed by the Oak, and Yew. There are of course many others and many other categories. Certain psychoactive plants help you expand and thus serve as conscious spiritual allies in a different format t han Trees. Certain trees & plants serve you as food sources. These you acknowledge as commodities, but not as conscious beings. You plant, grow, protect and harvest the ones that provide food, fiber and wood, but you do not as a species truly recognize the forests (including the rainforests) beyond providers of oxygen, and you have not resolved the issue of preserving them for posterity.

Sequoia are unique in their ability to self clone and be externally cloned. In this process, original energies, original records are retained. This is a unique attribute of the conscious Sequoia. It is why the Archangels have called on David Milarch to clone the Sequoia and Redwood. It is why we have directed the channel to gather in the most sacred area of the Giant Sequoia, and why many of you are called to gather and receive the codes in a hallowed space.

We tell you the Sequoia energies and records retained in their conscious coherent fields extend back 144 million years. No other botanical or biological lives on the physical realm of the planet have such an attribute, and it is extremely important.

Sequoias are the primary receivers are the 'Green Ray Activation' in its major goal of the re-activation and enhanced role of Trees in the New Earth. They call to you. They call to the LeMurians to re-establish the recognition of their benevolent council. They call for all humans to allow them to assist, to acknowledge their loving service. It is why they have remained in the third dimension that would otherwise destroy them. Answer their call, and indeed you will be rewarded exponentially!

The Green Ray & Emerald Flame

Take time to be among ancient trees during the Infinity Gate aperture of the Emerald Flame. The ancient trees, the grand trees carry a far greater role in this activation than you realize. The Sequoia are Master Beings, record keepers, the crystals of the plant kingdom. These trees truly are portals. This is absolutely true. These enormous trees convert rain and ground water to coded water crystals. Marcel Vogel and Dr Emoto have shown you that water is conscious and capable of crystal patterning. The Sequoia, more than any other tree, absorb massive amounts of water and through their unique photosynthesis process, store solar energy in theta-coherency. Because of this extremely unique high frequency, higher dimensional beings, angelics are able to ma nifest around the portaline energy of the Sequoia.

The Sequoia are multi-dimensional gateways and exude a cascading field of incredible energy around them. This energy is both physical and etheric in frequencial- dimensional spectrum. The Sequoia are receivers of sacred energy codes. They stabilize and heal the human body physical and human emotional field. The energy they emit heals and seals the human aura, enabling the aura to carry optimal circuitry to enable entry into the Mer-Ka-Na state and absolutely facilitates lucid activation of the pineal crystal. The LeMurians knew this. They revered and honored the Sequoia and Redwood. Many of you were among them, and this reawakening, the Green Ray Activation is a long awaited expansion. Many of you are called to anchor it, to receive the codes of the Emerald Flame and enter a realm of unimaginable peace and communication with all aspects of Gaia, and the Master Trees that serve you.

I am Metatron and we share with you these Truths.

And so it is ...And it is so... You are Beloved.

By: Thomas Moore;

Spirituality & Health Magazine,

Issue: 2012 November-December

The Greeks built temples and altars to gods and goddesses that today we might sense deep within our world or even within ourselves. One that particularly appeals to me is Artemis, known by the Romans as Diana. She’s the one pictured with a drawn bow in her hands, at home in the wild and hushed depths of the forest. You can find her there today, if you can get far enough from civilization to feel the purity and untouched, pristine green freshness of nature. In a very quiet moment, you might sense that same unspoiled innocence within yourself.

Artemis wants little to do with civilization and society. Scholars trace her to an ancient figure called The Lady of the Beasts, and she seems more comfortable in the company of animals than that of people. Stories describe her as being virginal, close to children and young people, especially girls still innocent.

She was virginal not just in a literal sense but in the quality of all her interactions. She was touchy about her privacy and didn’t want to be too closely identified with another person, especially a man. She was tall and lean and could be aggressive in preserving her integrity. The priestess of Artemis, who kept the temple keys and treasures, was called Melissa, the bee—a hard worker with a stinger. A bee does its work in a field and then leaves it virginal, with no sign that an intruder has interfered. Melissa also is linked to honey, a nectar we still associate with purity and health.

You probably know Artemis-like men and women, who like to be in nature, require that everything be natural, prefer the single life, insist on their individuality, have a special affection for animals, are self-employed, and like to run. It’s good to have an archetypal image like Artemis in mind so you don’t judge her values as antisocial or immature. She represents a kind of immaturity that is natural and legitimate.

I’ve always felt like an Artemis man. I’m not woodsy and I don’t enjoy camping and I’ve never been a runner, but in subtle ways I feel at home in her virginal, private world. I like to think for myself and go out of the way not to be influenced by my culture’s ideas and language. I enjoy being alone, and the few times in my life I had an ordinary job, it’s been a disaster. For the past 14 years, I’ve written all my books in the company of a dog, who sits under my desk and is one of the animals closely connected to Artemis. Others are deer and bears.

Marriage doesn’t come easily to me, but fortunately I married a woman who has a lot of Artemis in her. We appreciate this special spirit in each other. We don’t retreat from life, and yet the Diana spirit is strong in everything we do. To her devotees Artemis brings a definite quality of self-reliance, natural beauty, attention to landscape and gardens, emotional reserve, and originality.

An old hymn to Artemis says that she rarely goes to town. We could take that simple phrase as a rule of life preserving a precious aspect of our being. There’s a “forest” in us, a place of inner retreat and refreshment, a virginal and private inner hideout of vast importance to the soul. It’s resistant to the media and the opinions of others and is slow to show itself and be exposed.

You could build an altar to Artemis by resisting society’s well-intentioned methods of health and education and trust your natural instincts and intuitions. Home schooling and natural remedies may have Artemis in them. You could keep your childhood innocence alive and in play. You might keep a jar of honey handy to be reminded of this goddess and her rites and blessings. You could read the stories of the followers of Artemis: Daphne, Actaeon, Hippolytos, Atalanta, and Britomartis. Each offers a slightly different way to embody this goddess in daily life.

If you need to connect with your Artemis nature, you could take a walk far into the woods or go to your favorite natural retreat, say no to pressure from commercial advertisements, take up archery, or study a bee doing his work and then emulate him. You could go your own way and be testy, if necessary, in preserving your own tastes and inclinations. You could trust your intuitions and originality and keep your youth close at hand. There is a goddess who will smile and offer her blessing when you stand up for your way of life and your quirky style

Celtic Astrology According to
Druid and Ogham Properties

Celtic tree astrology is based on the ancient idea that the time of our births is pivotal to the formation of our personality and behavior.

The spiritually savvy Celts, particularly the druids were expert observers. Over time, they recognized that a child born within a certain season would develop certain qualities. Further, the druids observed patterns in the color and shape of a person's life according to the motions of the moon (their calendar being based on a lunar year) and the season in which we are born.

The system of Celtic tree astrology was developed out of a natural connection with the druid's knowledge of earth cycles and their reverence for the sacred knowledge held by trees. As mentioned on my Celtic Meaning of Trees Page, the druids had a profound connection with trees and believed they were vessels of infinite wisdom.

Carrying this concept a step forward, we can associate the likeness and personality of trees to our own human nature.
Celtic Tree of Life Meaning

The Celtic tree of life symbolizes harmony and balance. These days, the tree symbol is used for decorations, tattoos and tapestries. Understanding the underlying meaning of this symbol should give us an insight on the ancient culture of Celts.

The concept of 'tree of life' is found in many cultures including that of Celts. The crosses of Celtic and Northumbrian origins incorporate tree symbols in their designs. The Celtic tree of life represents the concept of forces of nature that converge to create harmony. These trees were so tall and expansive that they could actually form a whole forest with their branches. In the Celtic culture, importance of trees was decided on the basis of their geographical location and more importantly the inherent qualities. You would find many different rituals associated with Celtic trees of life. Here is more on this topic.

The adjoining image is a symbolic representation of the 'Celtic Tree of Life' as designed by Welsh artist, Jen Delyth in the 1990s decade.

Meaning of Celtic Tree of Life

Ancient Celts (Druids) believed that the tree of life or crann bethadh possessed special powers. The tribal people of Ireland while clearing a piece of land for human settlement, used to leave a tree in the center; they called this tree the crann bethadh. These people used to hold assemblies beneath the crann bethadh. The tree provided food, warmth and shelter to people. It also provided nourishment to other forms of life such as animals, birds, insects, etc. Therefore, the tree was described as a force which took care of life on earth. The Celts believed that trees were actually ancestors of human beings. The Celts inhabited only those places where such trees were present. Teaching centers of the Druids too were located in quiet and tranquil surroundings of Oak groves. One can find the designs of tree of life depicted in a manner that it is emerging from a pot. The pot, as depicted in Celtic designs and patterns, is a symbol of Mother Earth - the source that nourishes all forms of life.

Celtic Tree of Life Symbol

The meaning of this symbol can be interpreted in different ways. Here are few interesting facts about how the symbol is associated with different qualities and phenomena.
The balance and harmony prevalent in nature is best symbolized by the tree of life. However, balance is maintained due to the interaction of different forces operating in the universe.
The Celts attribute the tree of life symbol to qualities like wisdom, strength and longevity. These qualities of trees were the reason behind Celts worshiping them.
The Celts believed that their enemies would be rendered powerless if their (enemy's) sacred tree was cut down.
The different meanings associated with rebirth and the tree of life were derived from seasonal changes which the Celts observed in these trees.
Generally, the phenomenon of rebirth is associated with Celtic trees. The Celts performed various rituals to mark the changes that a tree of life underwent. The changes observed in these trees were tagged as birth, death and rebirth.
Tree of life is the symbol of an entity which connects the upper and lower worlds. Roots of this tree penetrate the depths of the lower world. Branches grow upwards and stretch out to the heavens. Trunk of the tree of life remains on the earth's plane. As per the beliefs held by Druids, gods in the heaven used to communicate with humans through trees of life.
Growth of the tree of life is associated with spiritual growth. As per beliefs held by Druids, some of these trees possessed magical powers and were capable of carrying messages to the 'Otherworld'. It was also believed that trees possessed the power to bless people with prosperity.

Meaning of Celtic Oak

Celts worshiped the oak tree for different qualities it possessed. Longevity is one of the qualities which makes the oak a life-affirming symbol. The oak tree is often compared with the king who shares his bounties with his subjects. This tree is known to bring prosperity to people and other forms of life in its vicinity.

Legend of Treochair

It is a story of a giant named Treochair, who came from the 'Otherworld' and brought with him a branch of tree which bore fruits of different plants. As the story goes, the giant shook the branch so as to drop these fruits. Seeds of the fruits dropped by the giant were planted in the center and four corners of Ireland.
Celtic Tree of Life Tattoos

Like all other religious and cultural beliefs, the Celts also have a long standing admiration and respect for the Tree of Life. Its tattoos have gained immense popularity over the years and there are so many details involved in this depiction, that there are thousands of possibilities available.

Celtic tattoos carry a lot of mysticism and allure with them, and the tree of life designs are some of the more popular designs in this sect. These are generally big designs and also carry a lot of color within them. The significance and the symbolism of the tree of life lend them an aura of mystery and also illustrate a great fondness for religion and heritage. Celtic tattoos, in general, are deeply surrounded by a lot of old world faiths and beliefs, that have been passed down for centuries.

The Biblical story of creation tells the tale of how God filled the Garden of Eden with many trees that contained delicious fruits, and two of the primary trees in that garden were the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. The latter was planted by God, and serve as a reminder of everything that the tree stood for and signified. In fact most major religious beliefs illustrate the one gigantic tree with its branches reaching into heaven and its roots entrenched in the earth below, that depicts the circle of life.

What Do These Tattoos Signify?

Celtic tree of life also serve as a depiction of the connection between God and humankind via the branches of the tree. In reality, there are many different ways of looking at the design, and each of them can be said to carry a different perception for the beholder. Its meaning may slightly differ from the beliefs of other cultures, but the essence of the symbol is primarily the same.

Trees have always held a deep significance to communities, societies and every culture. Depictions of large trees can be seen in many old scriptures and paintings as well, and no matter what culture it is, the Tree of Life has always been a source of great reverence for the offering of prayers and gratitude. Celtic art and culture has also adopted this belief system and due to the fact that Celtic tattoos are very popular, these designs have gained more and more popularity.

In the history of Celtic culture trees have always been looked upon as an undying connection between the different realms of existence. The huge size of the Tree of Life meant that it served as a means of communication and conduit between the Gods and human beings, and it was a metaphor of sorts of the spiritual growth of human beings. The symbol was not created until 800 A.D. though, and people who sport it imply that their spiritual growth and transcendence is well underway. The tattoo designs itself can be taken to mean different things for different people, but the broad message remains unchanged.

Popular Designs

There will always be differences in the tattoos of tree of life sported by different people, but the basic elements of the design remain the same. The three elements that you will see in every design are the long roots that stretch deep into the ground, the long branches that spread out into the heavens and the presence of a strong sturdy trunk. Celtic tattoos also make use of endless sequences of knots, and these can also be ingrained into the design.

Some other additions to the design can be made in the form of any of the seven life forms that the Celts believed existed on the planet.

Any combination of these life forms can be depicted in one of these tattoos. This large collection of possibilities along with the tremendous scope of colors that can be added, make them a great choice for expressing creativity. Since there are a lot of details involved here, these tattoos are generally very big in size, though they can be made smaller as well.

Before you go ahead and get your tattoo made, make sure that you browse through a fairly large number of preexisting designs. Try to add your originality to a design and make it unique, and alter anything else as you may deem fit.

Tree of Life Versus Tree of Knowledge

Interpretations over the above mentioned trees abound and here is their conclusion as well. See it for yourself...

In the Romanian popular tradition, they say each of us has a brother tree. It may be either a tree planted in our own garden, in a park or in a forest. In the worst case, we can choose a tree to look after. These trees can have different significances: the apple symbolizes rivalries, the chestnut tree signifies the fear of the unknown, the lilac is a symbol of genuine love, and the fir tree is a symbol of fighting with sufferings. Also, the hazelnut tree is a symbol of honesty, the olive tree a symbol of reconciliation; the peach tree is a symbol of obstacles that can be overcome; the pear tree signifies cooperation; the cherry tree is an urge to take up initiatives.

Of course, the most celebrated tree is the Tree of Life. There are many theories about this tree, including the Kabalistic version on the matter. For the Christian part, represented for instance by St. Ambrose, the Tree of Life foreshadows our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Another saint from Jerusalem considered that there was a connection, a contrast between the tree of rebellion which was the beginning of sin and the tree of the Cross, which put an end to sin.

So, the tree of knowledge of good and evil is charged with symbolism again. Thus, St. Clement states that even the Holy Scripture denotes the sexual intercourse as a form of gaining knowledge, of getting to know. St. Clement says that this is a secondary type of knowledge represented by the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The Tree of Life represents yet another type of knowledge, that of Truth Itself. But, Saint Clement also gives a Christological interpretation to the Tree of Life. Thus, he says that heaven is the created world in which Logos has grown (as a tree of life) and born fruit by becoming man, and based people's lives on His Cross.

Origen supports the idea that the tree of Eden must not be interpreted word for word. He thus returns to the primary concept that of giving the Tree of Life the interpretation of a symbol of the Cross, but combines it with the reference to the double nature of the tree which not only the Good (Christ), but also the evil (the powers of this world) has been crucified, as Saint Paul the Apostle says in Colossians 2: 14-15. By this interpretation, the Tree of Life is identified with the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

This above-mentioned interpretation has played an important part for Gregory of Nyssa, who developed and refined it. For St. Gregory, heaven is a place of virtues, but the interpretation of the two trees as being virtually one and the same is his most important contribution in this context. He brings forth very complex arguments, in relation with the Song of songs 5-5, the myrrh being understood as a symbol of death and leads Gregory to demonstrate how the soul can rise from death through death. He says that in Eden, God's commandments were the law of life, announcing that man does not need to die, and the Tree of Life was in the middle of Eden. But, the death-bringing tree was also said to be there in the middle of Eden, although there couldn't possibly be place for two trees in the middle.

St. Gregory states that one and the same circle cannot have two centers. So, in the middle of God's garden was life, and death did not have any root or a place of its own to grow there. In other words, death does not have a substance of its own, it is only the absence of life. When we say that the tree of knowledge is at the same time of good and evil, this thing does not contradict this interpretation, because what is called good is what appears to be good from the point of view of desire, and what is called evil is what gives the opposite feeling. Sin is the correct name which can be given to the death-bringing fruits of this tree. Life is gained by taking part at life, and death by renouncing life. But, while the one who is dead for virtues lives in evilness, the one who is dead towards evil comes to life through virtue.
