I am often described as an enigma; defined by Webster as “A person (or thing) that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand.” I do indeed have many layers. Unlike the layers of an onion, that often have to be pried apart, each of my layers enclose a piece of me like the petals of a flower enveloping the precious pistil within and exposing the magnificence that lies beneath as I blossom and transform into a beautiful flower.
I have adopted the “Diné” philosophy and way; “As within, so without” and “Walk in Beauty” learning to heal from within so that the beauty will extend outward to family, friends, lovers, my soul mate, whoever enters my life. I say “adopted” because I am not of Navajo descent. My roots and teachings are like many hidden cultures around the world, blending spirituality and nature to create a harmonious way of life.
My upbringing however, was very different. Having endured several snake bites throughout my life, Snake has become my sister; teaching me how to transmute the negative and transform into the wonderful woman I am today. I often escape into nature where I learn to connect with Gaia and discover my own spirituality and balance.
I learn the language of nature and how to communicate and listen attentively to what Mother Nature is kind enough to share with me.
Butterfly often appears, reminding me that by viewing the life cycle of a butterfly, I learn to transform from the wounded warrior into a place of patience and perseverance; love and confidence; kindness and forgiveness; creativity and evolution.
